Hamburg COVID-19 Series
WEDNESDAY, 22/9/2021 - 4 pm
Dr. Irene Fernandez-Cuesta (UHH) will talk about her research on SARS-CoV-2
Many scientists in the Hamburg metropolitan area are involved in research related to SARS-CoV-2 and the COVID-19 pandemic. In cooperation with the Helmholtz graduate school for Data Science in Hamburg (DASHH), the Leibniz ScienceCampus InterACt wants to increase the visibility of this research fostering new contacts and potential collaborations. Since August 12th, 2020, we are pleased to welcome many speakers and a highly interested interdisciplinary audience. The series represents a unique platform for vivid exchange and takes place every two weeks with a 30-minute lecture and room for further discussions afterward.
We are looking forward to the joint talk of Prof. Nicole Fischer (Medical Center Hamburg Eppendorf) and Prof. Adam Grundhoff (Leibniz Institute for Experimental Virology, HPI) providing insights into recent developments regarding SARS-CoV-2 research in Hamburg, on Wednesday, September 22, at 4 pm . Their talk will include an update on COVID-19 surveillance during four waves and an introduction of the DFG-funded project "Monitoring the emergence and origin of SARS-CoV-2 mutations – Genetic Inter- and Intrahost SARS-CoV-2 diversity in immunocompetent and immunocompromised patients". With this talk, we will conclude our series and we are hoping to meet many of you at this last event.
